Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said Tuesday he’s “pretty sure” the 2025 season will be his final NFL season.
“Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday. “That’s why we just did a one-year deal.”
The four-time NFL MVP signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal with the Steelers earlier this month. The deal includes $10 million guaranteed and can be worth up to $19.5 million with incentives, sources added.
The deal with Pittsburgh set up a Week 1 showdown between Rodgers and his most recent former team, the New York Jets, who will host the Steelers in their season opener.
Rodgers, 41, was released by the Jets in March, one month after what he later described as a contentious meeting with new coach Aaron Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey.
Before joining the Jets, Rodgers spent the first 18 seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers. He will face Green Bay for the first time this season — in Week 8 on “Sunday Night Football.”
He is the Packers’ franchise leader in touchdown passes (475), completion percentage (65.3) and passer rating (103.6) and ranks second behind only Brett Favre in passing yards (59,055) and completions (5,001).
The 2025 season will be Rodgers’ 21st in the NFL.
