One of the Minnesota Wild prospects had a great weekend for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Jimmy Clark picked up four assists in two games against Ohio State.
Clark, 20, was the Wild’s seventh-round pick from the 2023 NHL Draft. He was selected with the 213th pick. He entered the week with five goals and 11 assists in 31 games.
The first game against Ohio State Clark assisted on Chicago Blackhawks prospect Oliver Moore’s goal in the third period.
On Saturday, Gophers head coach Bob Motzko moved Clark back to center on a line that was one of the best to start the season. Clark centered Nashville Predators first-rounder Matthew Wood and Tampa Bay Lightning sixth-rounder Connor Kurth.
In the first four games of the season, Clark had one goal and six assists. Kurth had four goals and four assists. Wood had two goals and five assists.
On Saturday, Clark assisted on Wood’s goal and picked up both assists on Kurth’s two goals.
“We found a little chemistry there earlier in the year so it was nice to revisit that chemistry and get it going again,” Kurth said on playing with Wood and Clark. “It’s fun when you can find that again and just roll from there.”
The Wild prospect has five goals and 19 points in 33 games this year.
