‘On a personal level, it would be great’ – Ibrahima Konaté on Liverpool’s Champions League clash with PSG

In an interview with Téléfoot, Ibrahima Konaté (25) was asked how it would feel if Liverpool were to be drawn against Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.

Konaté was born in Paris and grew up in the French capital. The Liverpool defender has previously made no secret of his affinity to the Ligue 1 champions as his boyhood club. When asked about the prospect of playing his boyhood club in UEFA’s premier competition, the France international said, “It would be great, on a personal level, to face PSG in the Champions League.”

The 25-year-old’s interview with the French publication took place a few days before Friday’s Champions League draw where it was confirmed the Premier League leaders would face Les Parisiens in the knockout stages of the competition. The two sides last met in European competition in the 2018/19 edition of the Champions League with Liverpool winning their home leg 3-2 and PSG winning the reverse fixture 2-1.
