Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports
The NHL is kicking off 2025 by naming franchise stars from the past quarter-century.
From Dec. 30, 2024, through Jan. 31, the NHL is announcing the first and second quarter-century teams for each franchise that’s existed since 2000, as voted by a panel of media, retired players and executives specific to that club.
These players are judged to have been the best for their team in the past 25 years as the NHL world honors their accomplishments since the beginning of the new millennium.
Following the team announcements, a league-wide fan vote will decide the top 25 NHL players of the past 25 years. The vote will take place from Feb. 12 to 26, and only players named to a club’s first quarter-century squad are eligible for selection.
Here’s a tracker of the quarter-century teams as they are revealed, a schedule of what’s to come and some extra fast facts (GM and coach information includes interim positions). The stats are from Jan. 1, 2000, to Dec. 31, 2024.
