BBCA 6.2 magnitude earthquake has struck near Istanbul, shaking buildings in Turkey’s largest city and prompting people to flee apartment blocks.
The quake on Wednesday was measured at a depth of 6.92 km (4.3 miles), Turkey’s emergency service says.
The scale of impact and damage is still unclear with no immediate reports of casualties.
The epicentre of the quake, which struck at 12:49 local time (09:49 GMT) was in the area of Silivri, about 80 km (50 miles) west of Istanbul.
