Former two-time Bellator MMA title challenger Fabian Edwards earned one of the biggest wins of his career Friday night when he knocked out Impa Kasanganay in the 185-pound headline bout of the PFL’s 2025 World Tournament event at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida.
Edwards (14-4) hurt Kasanganay (18-6) with a flying knee and then dropped him with a left hand in the second round. A series of follow-up punches on the ground ended the fight at the 2:14 mark.
It’s a big win for Edwards, the younger brother of former UFC champion Leon Edwards. Kasanganay has been one of the biggest standouts of the PFL roster for years. He won the PFL tournament in 2023 and advanced to the final in 2024.
Edwards now will face another longtime PFL standout in Josh Silveira (14-4), a former light heavyweight who defeated Mike Shipman on Friday.
On the other side of the middleweight bracket, Dalton Rosta (10-1) submitted Sadibou Sy (17-9-2) via d’Arce in the second round. He will face Canada’s Aaron Jeffery (16-5), who defeated Murad Ramazanov in a close split decision.
At lightweight, 2024 PFL champion Gadzhi Rabadanov (25-4-2) took a step toward back-to-back championships with a TKO finish over former UFC veteran Marc Diakiese (18-8). He’ll face PFL newcomer Jay Jay Wilson (11-1), who scored a TKO finish against Mads Burnell.
Lightweights Alfie Davis (18-5-1) and Brent Primus (16-4) also advanced to the semifinals. Davis upset PFL fan favorite Clay Collard with a spinning back fist, while Primus submitted Vinicius Cenci.
The PFL’s 2025 World Tournament continues next week in Orlando, with an event that will feature light heavyweights and heavyweights. The semifinals are scheduled to take place in June.
