Linebacker Tyrel Dodson is returning to the Miami Dolphins on a two-year contract, a source confirmed to ESPN.

Dodson signed a one-year, $4.2 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks last offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, but he was released after nine games. The Dolphins claimed him on waivers, and he started three of his nine games with the team.

In his first start, Dodson recorded his first career interception — a one-handed pick against New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Dodson finished with three interceptions in 2024, which led the team.

He was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 17 after recording 15 tackles and an interception against the Cleveland Browns.

Dodson, 26, finished last season with a career-best 107 tackles. He has 250 tackles and 6.5 sacks in five seasons.

The news of Dodson’s agreement was first reported by Fox Sports.
